B.A., Biology and Environmental Studies, Bowdoin College, 2012
About Me
I am from Baltimore, Maryland where I fostered a love for biology and conservation through exploring the Chesapeake Bay watershed. After graduating from Bowdoin College in 2012 with a BA in Biology and Environmental Studies, I gained a variety of experiences through plant biology and conservation jobs in Maine, California, and Puerto Rico. I am excited to be a part of the Echinacea Project this summer and learn more about the study of fragmented ecosystems. This fall I will pursue my master’s degree in the Plant Biology and Conservation Program at Northwestern and the Chicago Botanic Garden.
Research Interests
I am generally interested in how anthropogenic change, and especially habitat fragmentation, impacts the ability of plants to persist over time. This summer I aim to study how fire affects the compatibility and mating opportunities of Echinacea angustifolia in remnant prairie populations.
