About Me

I am from Alexandria, Minnesota, only about thirty minutes from the research site. I just graduated from high school in june and I will be attending the U of M Twin Cities next fall. I spent some time last summer working with the Minnesota DNR and the University of St. Thomas looking into energy flow within aquatic ecosystems, using stable isotopes. I am so incredibly excited to a part of the 2014 Echinacea Project research team!

Research

I am interested in studying pollen longevity inĀ Echinacea Angustifolia. I will learn how long pollen remains viable after leaving the anthers of the plant and I would like to learn ways to preserve pollen so that it remains viable longer. I am also interested in energy flow within the fragmented prairie that we will be studying this summer and how Echinacea fits into that flow specifically.
