Laura – you may wish to adopt a monitoring protocol (or method) for tracking phenology of your organisms. I might suggest the USA National Phenology Network protocols as a model. We don’t have protocols for all of your species, but do for Echinacea purpurea (at http://www.usanpn.org/Echinacea_purpurea). My guess is that this species is similar to E angustifolum… In fact, if your other taxa are herbaceous perennials, you might be able to use the same protocol for the other taxa (or follow protocols for a similar plant functional type).
